JOHN OLSEN Director, President
John Olsen’s career in shipping began in 1966 in the tanker department of a large ship owner in Denmark. He worked with numerous ship owners/operators before founding Waterfront Chartering in 1980.

JAN OLSEN Director
Jan Olsen has worked in dry bulk commodity chartering since 1992 with various owners and operators, prior to joining the Waterfront Chartering team in 2003.

OLIVER KEANE Director, Chartering
Oliver Keane began his career in Ocean Transportation in 2004 with a large brokerage house overseas. He joined the Waterfront Chartering team in 2008 entering into the company trainee program inclusive of overseas placement within a fast-paced ship owner’s chartering department with commercial responsibilities surrounding ship and cargo positions.

MIKE JEKYLL Consultant
Mike Jekyll brings 47 years of shipping knowledge to Waterfront Chartering. His vast experience in the shipping industry includes work as a principal on the chartering and owner side, as well as becoming a well-established shipbroker.

ED BAMFORD Chartering
Edward Bamford started his career in dry bulk shipping in 2009 for a large international brokerage house overseas. There he spent time working in operations and chartering, before moving to Vancouver with the same brokerage house. He joined the Waterfront Chartering team in 2018 in order to support the ongoing growth of the team’s chartering activities.

DENISE SWEET Office Manager
Denise Sweet has been in the shipping industry with Waterfront Chartering since 1996. In addition to completing the WFCI trainee program, Denise possesses broad knowledge of the operations side furthered by working within other organizations’ operations departments.

MATT AVALL Operations Manager
Matt Avall joined Waterfront Chartering in 2009 and graduated from the WFCI trainee program. Matt has a strong knowledge base in operations complimented by the experience of spending time within the operations department of a large owner/operator overseas.
